Minwoo Park T-51st Following First Round of NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – Concordia College freshman Minwoo Park (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) played in the first round of the NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at the Shoals, Fighting Joe Course on Monday. Park earned a spot in the tournament as an individual as he finished the first 18 holes, T-51st overall in a field of 108 participants.

Two weeks ago Park captured the 2018 NCAA Atlantic/East Super Regional Individual Title at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, W. Va. with a nine-under performance in three rounds. He began his quest for a national individual title on Monday with a 75 (+3) to place T-51st.

Park started his round on the back-nine and recorded a double bogey in his first hole. He would bounce back on the par-four 11th hole with a birdie, but recorded a bogey on the 13th to stand at +2. Minwoo would par the next two holes and shot -1 on both the 16th and 17th holes to bring his score back to even-par. Park would par the next four holes before dropping a shot with a bogey on the par-three 5th. Minwoo ended his round with three bogeys over the final five holes as he finished with a 75 (+3).
