Clippers Men’s Golf Ends Round One of NCAA Atlantic/East Super Regionals in 9th; Park Currently T-3rd on Leaderboard

DANIELS, W. Va. – The Concordia Clippers men's golf team finished their first round at the 2018 NCAA Atlantic/East Super Regionals on Monday at The Resort at Glade Springs. Freshman Minwoo Park (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) helped lead Concordia to finish the round in 9th as his 70 (-2) is currently T-3rd on the leaderboard.

As a team the Clippers shot a 297 (+9) and are only seven strokes behind St. Thomas Aquinas for the top spot on the leaderboard. Concordia had the best team score out of the other Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) programs participating as Wilmington (Del.) shot a 301 (+13), Dominican (N.Y.) shot a 304 (+16), and Post shot a 308 (+20).

Park shot one-under on both the front and back nine to record the low round for the Clippers while senior Chartpetch Bangpetch (Chonburi, Thailand) carded a 75 (+3) to earn him a T-39th finish out of 108 participants.

Senior Mark Kilpatrick (Cheshire, England, United Kingdom) and junior Kanoon Bunthanawong (Chonburi, Thailand) both shot a 76 (+4) to currently stand T-51st while junior Evan Hong (Houston, Texas) rounded out the scores for Concordia with a 79 (+7) to finish T-77th.

The Clippers will continue with round two tomorrow as they are scheduled to tee off at 12:00 p.m. back at The Resort at Glade Springs. Live stats are available under the men's golf schedule page on ConcordiaClippers.com.

The top-three finishing teams in the three round tournament will qualify for the NCAA Division II National Championship at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at the Shoals, Fighting Joe Course in Muscle Shoals, Alabama beginning on Monday, May 21st.
