Concordia Finishes Second at Charger Challenge

Suffern, N.Y. - The Concordia College Clippers men's golf team participated in Dominican College's Charger Challenge on Sunday and Monday at the Spook Rock Golf Course. The Clippers shot a 608 to finish five strokes away from the victory as the team finished in second out of 10 teams.

Concordia placed three players in the top-four with Eutimio Fernandez-Meade (Mexico City, Mexico) leading the team with a 146 (+2) while Jeffrey Schaller (Kingston, N.Y.) finished a stroke behind with a 147 (+3) as his second round score of 69 (-3) was the best round in the tournament.

Sam Deitte (St. Louis, Mo.) ended the tournament with a 150 (+6) to round out the top-four scores. Steve Plezia (Melville, N.Y.) tied for 35th with a 168 (+24) while Kyle Grandilli (Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada) ended tied for 43rd with a 172 (+28).

The Clippers will now prepare for their next tournament which will take place this Thursday thru Saturday. Concordia will travel to Guilderland, N.Y. to participate in the St. Rose Invitational at Pinehaven Country Club for their final fall tournament.
