Concordia Captures Sage Invitational Victory by One Stroke

Ravena, N.Y. – The Concordia College Clippers men's golf team captured a win at the seven-team Sage Invitational at the Sycamore Country Club on Saturday with a one stroke victory over St. Joseph's (N.Y.). Sam Deitte (St. Louis, Mo.) led the Clippers with a 78 (+6) as the team shot a combined 324.

Jeffrey Schaller (Kingston, N.Y.) and Eutimio Fernandez-Meade (Mexico City, Mexico) would both shoot an 80 (+8) on the day. Kyle Grandilli (Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada) and Steve Plezia (Melville, N.Y.) rounded out the scores for Concordia with an 86 and 88, respectively.

Purchase College's Rory Mazur and St. Joseph's (N.Y.) Christian Bleck were the low-scorers on the day as they both shot a 75. Mazur was declared the medalist winner after the tiebreaker procedure.

The Clippers will now prepare for their next tournament which will take place this Wednesday. Concordia will travel to Lafayette Hill, Pa. to participate in the Philadelphia U. Invitational at The ACE Club.
