Concordia Finishes 3rd at CACC Golf Championship Tournament; Jeffrey Schaller Named to All-Tournament Team

Lafayette Hill, PA – The Concordia College Clippers men's golf team participated in the two-day Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Tournament at the Whitemarsh Valley Country Club. After finishing the opening round seven strokes behind the leader Concordia ended day two with another solid round to finish in third place overall, 15 strokes off the lead.

Jeffrey Schaller (Kingston, NY) led the Clippers with an opening round of a 75 which tied him for the lead. In the second round Schaller shot a 79 to finish with a 154 and a top-five finish in the field of 55 golfers. Schaller's strong finished also earned him a spot on the CACC All-Tournament Team. Sam Deitte finished the tournament with a top-10 finish as he shot an 80 in the first round and rebounded to shoot a 75 for a 155.

Eutimio Fernandez-Meade (Mexico City, Mexico) tied for 12th with a 160 while Kyle Grandilli (Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada) shot a 161 as Concordia placed four of their five players in the top-15. Wilmington (DE), the champion of the tournament, was the only team to also place four players in the top-15 in scoring. Will Deitte (St. Louis, MO) shot a two-day total of 175 to round out the team's scores.

The Clippers will next host the Concordia Classic on April 23rd and 24th at the Hampshire Country Club in Mamaroneck, NY. The tournament will be the last regular season event as the Clippers look to receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Regional Tournament this May.
