ORANGEBURG, N.Y., – Freshman guard Dion Herrington (Englewood, N.J.) led five members of the Concordia College New York men's basketball team that ended Wednesday evening's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest with double-digit points, scoring 18 while senior forward Jesse Breeding (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) recorded his third double-double of the campaign in an 85-76 setback at Dominican College (N.Y.).

• Concordia falls to 5-22, 4-14 in league play.
• Dominican, ranked eighth in the latest National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II Regional Rankings, improves to 21-6, 14-4 in CACC action.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Herrington went 8-14 from the field while adding three assists.
• Breeding chipped in 15 points with 10 rebounds.
• Junior guard Jared Young (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) added 15 points with three assists.
• Sophomore forward Devon Sims (Centreville, Va.) scored 15 points off 7-12 shooting with seven boards.
• Junior forward Alex White Jr. (Middletown, Conn.) contributed 12 points with six rebounds and three blocks.
• For Dominican, Daraja Rodwell scored 23 points with three assists while Jason Copman added 13 points with 14 rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Concordia scored the opening eight points of the contest to take an early 8-0 lead with 18:21 remaining in the first half.
• Dominican countered with a 5-3 stretch before back-to-back Concordia baskets created a double-digit separation at 15-5 with 14:33 left in the half.
• Concordia responded to back-to-back baskets with a free throw and layup to hold an 18-9 advantage, only for a 12-0 Chargers' run propelling the host to a 21-18 lead with 7:51 remaining in the half.
• White Jr. knotted the score with a triple on the ensuing possession, sparking a 7-0 Concordia run that pushed the Clippers ahead 25-21 with 5:20 left in the half.
• Dominican evened the score at 25-all, with the two sides trading baskets to keep the score tied at 27-27 and 29-29 before a Fields free throw with 13 seconds left gave Concordia a 30-29 lead at halftime.
• Dominican scored a three-pointer on the opening possession of the second half to reclaim the lead, with neither side scoring consecutive baskets in a back-and-forth start until a 6-0 Concordia run gave the Clippers a 47-42 edge with 14:32 remaining in the contest.
• The host scored eight of the ensuing 10 points to take a one-point lead at 50-49, responding to a pair of Concordia free throws with six-straight points to hold a 56-51 lead with 9:52 left to play.
• After trading the ensuing four baskets to maintain the five-point separation, Dominican used a 9-0 run to create a double-digit advantage at 69-55 with 5:13 remaining.
• Concordia ended the run off a jumper, with neither side having a run greater than three until a 4-0 DC run made it 79-65 with 1:09 left to play.
• A quick 6-2 Concordia stretch cut the deficit down to single digits at 81-72 with 37 seconds remainign, with each side adding four points to its total to create the final score.

• The Clippers converted 32-68 shots, going 6-17 from three-point territory and 6-10 from the free throw line.
• Dominican finished 30-63 from the field, 9-22 from distance and 16-24 from the free throw line.

• Concordia committed 13 turnovers, resulting in 11 points for the Chargers. Dominican had 10 turnovers, leading to 11 points.

• Concordia recorded two steals with three blocks while DC stole the ball seven times with eight blocks.
