Men’s Basketball Hosts Bloomfield In CACC Opener Tuesday

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Concordia College New York men's basketball team welcomes Bloomfield College to the Meyer Athletic Center on Tuesday, Dec. 3 for both teams' Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener, with tip-off set for 7 p.m.

About the Clippers
Concordia (1-8) begins conference play following an 82-62 setback at Adelphi University on Sunday, Dec. 1. The Clippers average 65.4 points on a .363 field goal percentage with 33.2 rebounds, 9.8 assists, 7.3 steals and 3.6 blocks which ranks third in the league.

Freshman forward Dan Porcic (Putnam, Conn.) leads a trip of Clippers averaging double-digit points behind a 12.1 rate, connecting on 24 triples which is the third-most in the league. Sophomore forward Devon Sims (Centreville, Va.) chips in 11.6 points and 2.0 steals, tied for the seventh-best average in the CACC, while senior guard Brandon Fields (Washington, D.C.) adds 11.6 points and a team-high 2.4 assists. Junior forward Alex White Jr. (Middletown, Conn.) boasts a team-leading 6.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks, tied for the fourth-best average within the CACC.

About the Bears
Bloomfield (3-3) opens its CACC slate after falling against Bridgeport University 84-68 on Tuesday, Nov. 26 The Bears average 71.0 points on a .389 field goal percentage with 39.0 rebounds, 13.2 assists, 6.3 steals and 2.7 blocks.

Safee Abdus-Sabur paces the Bears on both sides of the court behind a team-best 17.3 points, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals, while Matt Lajeunesse averages a double-double with 11.8 points and a CACC-leading 13.0 rebounds on top of 1.0 blocks which ties for eighth in the league.
