PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Redshirt-senior guard Cedrick McFadden (Washington, D.C.) became the newest member of the Concordia College New York men's basketball program's 1,000-point club on Saturday afternoon while two student-athletes set three combined career-highs, but the Clippers could not find a response to a Holy Family University basket in the final seconds of a 69-66 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) setback.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Sophomore forward Kyle Parris (Old Bridge, N.J.) set a pair of career-highs with 14 points and eight rebounds.
• Sophomore guard Baron Goodridge (Bronx, N.Y.) scored 14 points.
• Senior guard Michael Demello (White Plains, N.Y.) pulled down eight rebounds with three assists.
• Senior forward Stephen Milhaven (Port Washington, N.Y.) dished out a personal-best six assists to go with six boards.
• For Holy Family, Patrick Robinson scored 26 points with eight rebounds while Dymir Montague chipped in 15 points with seven assists and seven steals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Demello scored the opening basket of the contest via a three pointer, with the host responding behind a 5-0 run to hold a 5-3 advantage with 17:35 remaining in the half.
• Senior guard Jayson Cethoute (Queens, N.Y.) knotted the score off a layup, with the two sides exchanging three-point plays to keep the score tied before back-to-back baskets pushed Holy Family ahead 12-8 with 15:40 left in the half.
• McFadden joined the program's 1,000-point club with a three pointer to get the Clippers within one, sparking a 10-4 run with sophomore guard Jared Young (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) and junior forward Anthony Barnes (Bowie, Md.) chipping in to put Concordia on top 18-16 with 11:28 to go in the half.
• Holy Family evened the score off a basket, with Goodridge quickly breaking the tied score before back-to-back Parris baskets extended the lead to 24-18 with 9:05 remaining in the half.
• HFU made it a one-possession contest with back-to-back baskets, tying the score at 26-all before a Cethoute jumper and McFadden three pointer made it 31-26 with 4:39 left in the half.
• Young connected on three free throws late in the half for Concordia, while the Tigers scored six points before the end of the half to create a 34-32 score at the intermission.
• Both sides scored a layup in the opening two minutes of the second half, leading to nearly three minutes without either side score until a pair of Goodridge free throws ended the scoreless spell and made it 38-34 with 15:58 to play.
• Holy Family used a jump shot and three pointer back-to-back to take a 39-38 lead, with two more Goodridge free throws flipping the one-point advantage in the Clippers' favor at 40-39 with 12:47 remaining.
• A Goodridge triple in response to a HFU dunk kept Concordia ahead at 43-41, but a 6-0 run propelled the host to a 47-43 lead with 11:47 to play.
• A McFadden free throw sparked an 8-0 run with freshman forward Devon Sims (Centreville, Va.), Demello and Paris scoring during the spree to push Concordia to a 51-47 edge with 8:04 remaining.
• Neither side connected on consecutive baskets over the ensuing 25 points, with Concordia holding onto a 64-59 lead before a 7-0 rally by the host created a 66-64 lead with 56 seconds remaining.
• Sophomore forward Alex White Jr. (Middletown, Conn.) connected on a pair of free throws with 16 ticks remaining to knot the score at 66-all, but a HFU jumper with three seconds remaining gave the host a 68-66 advantage with a free throw following a Concordia turnover creating the final score.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• The Clippers converted on 22-67 shots, going 7-23 from three-point territory and 15-20 from the free throw line.
• Holy Family finished 28-63 from the field, 3-21 from distance and 10-17 from the free throw line.
• Concordia recorded 15 assists while Holy Family had 12.
• Concordia held a 48-35 advantage in rebounds.
• Concordia had 22 turnovers, resulting in 16 points for HFU. The Tigers had 17 turnovers, leading to 18 Clippers' points.
• Concordia' bench scored 40 points while the host got seven from its bench.
• Concordia recorded 10 steals with two blocks while Holy Family stole the ball 11 times with two blocks.
