PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – In a back-and-fourth contest that saw 13 tied scores and neither side leading by more than six points, the Concordia College New York men's basketball team used a 4-0 run with under 90 seconds remaining to take a three-point lead over Chestnut Hill and held onto the advantage over the host Griffins on Sunday afternoon in a 66-61 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) triumph.

• Concordia improves to 8-11, 5-5 in CACC play.
• Chestnut Hill drops to 3-15, 0-9 in league action.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Senior guard Michael Demello (White Plains, N.Y.) scored a team-best 22 points on 6-12 shooting with two steals.
• Sophomore forward Alex White Jr. (Middletown, Conn.) pulled down nine rebounds with a block.
• Redshirt senior Cedrick McFadden (Washington, D.C.) recorded a team-leading four assists with four steals, two coming in the final minute of play, while chipping in seven points and six rebounds.
• Senior forward Stephen Milhaven (Port Washington, N.Y.) pulled down nine rebounds with two steals and a block.
• For Chestnut Hill, Ed McWade scored 22 points with eight rebounds while Tony Toplyn Jr. and Liban Awl both recorded three assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Following a pair of Jason Cethoute (Queens, N.Y.) free throws to start the contest, Chestnut Hill responded with a 5-0 run to take a 5-2 advantage with 18:19 remaining in the half.
• Concordia evened the score off a Demello three pointer, with the two sides splitting the ensuing eight points before another 5-0 spurt from the host propelled them to a 14-9 lead with 12:50 to go in the half.
• The Clippers used a 12-2 spree with McFadden, Milhaven and Demello all scoring to take a 21-16 lead, and created a six-point separation at 25-19 off a White Jr. free throw with 5:14 remaining in the half.
• The host countered with a 6-0 rally to even the score at 25-all, but back-to-back layups from freshman forward Devon Sims (Centreville, Va.) and Cethoute put the Clippers ahead 29-25 with 1:43 left in the half.
• Chestnut Hill used a free throw and layup to cut the deficit to one at 29-28 before a pair of free throws from junior forward Anthony Barnes (Bowie, Md.) created a 31-28 halftime score.
• The Griffins used a quick 5-2 run at the beginning of the second half to knot the score at 33-33 with 17:18 remaining in the contest.
• The two sides went back-and-fourth with neither side holding a lead greater than four over the ensuing 32 points with six tied scores during the stretch before a White Jr. layup evened the score at 49-all and sparked an 8-0 run with sophomore guard Baron Goodridge (Bronx, N.Y.) and Cethoute contributing to propel the Clippers to a 55-49 advantage with 5:36 remaining in the contest.
• CHC college quickly chipped into the separation with a 5-0 run, taking the lead at 57-56 with 3:23 remaining in the contest off a three pointer.
• Concordia knotted the score at 59-all off a Sims free throw, adding another Sims free throw and Goodridge layup to push ahead 62-59 with 52 seconds left.
• The Griffins ended the run with a layup, only for four unanswered free throws by the Clippers in the final 30 seconds creating the final score.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• The Clippers converted on 22-58 shots, going 5-24 from three-point territory and 17-24 from the free throw line.
• Chestnut Hill finished 22-56 from the field, 5-20 from distance and 12-15 from the free throw line.
• Concordia recorded 12 assists while Chestnut Hill had nine.
• Chestnut Hill held a 38-37 advantage in rebounds.
• Concordia had 17 turnovers, resulting in 17 points for Chestnut Hill. CHC had 22 turnovers, leading to 24 Clippers' points.
• Concordia' bench scored 21 points while the host got 16 from its bench.
• Concordia recorded a season-high 13 steals with two blocks while Chestnut Hill stole the ball seven times with three blocks.
