ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – Sophomore guard Jared Young (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) scored a career-high 18 points for the Concordia College New York men's basketball team on Wednesday evening, but the Clippers were unable to hand regionally-ranked Dominican College (N.Y.) its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) loss of the season in a 72-60 decision.

• Concordia falls to 5-11, 2-5 in CACC play.
• Dominican, ranked fifth in the most recent D2SIDA East Region poll, improves to 12-3, 7-0 in league action.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Young converted on 7-10 shots, going 2-4 from beyond the arc while adding three steals.
• Sophomore forward Alex White Jr. (Middletown, Conn.) pulled down 12 rebounds.
• Redshirt-senior guard Cedrick McFadden (Washington, D.C.) tallied three assists.
• For Dominican, Ian Gardern scored 19 points while Daniel Grant recorded 16 points with 10 rebounds and four assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Dominican jumped out to an early 4-0 lead before a triple from senior guard Michael Demello (White Plains, N.Y.) and layup from senior guard Jason Cethoute (Queens, N.Y.) gave the Clippers a 5-4 advantage with 17:20 remaining in the half.
• The Chargers used a 7-0 spree to pull ahead, with a McFadden layup ending the run and making it 11-7 with 13:38 to go in the half.
• The host created a double-digit separation at 22-9, adding a layup to the lead before a Cethoute free throw made it 24-10 with 9:47 remaining in the half.
• Concordia cut the separation to 10 at 25-15 off a jump shot and three pointer from Young back-to-back after a Dominican free throw, only for a 17-6 stretch propelling the visitors to a 42-21 lead with 53 seconds remaining in the half.
• White Jr. scored the final basket of the half, creating a 42-23 score at the intermission.
• Dominican scored the opening six points of the second half to extend their lead to 48-23 with 17:22 remaining in the contest.
• A Cethoute jump shot and senior forward Stephen Milhaven (Port Washington, N.Y.) triple back-to-back cut into the separation, but a Chargers' triple and dunk sandwiching a White Jr. free throw made it 53-29 with 13:08 remaining.
• Concordia used a 13-2 rally with White Jr., sophomore forward Kyle Parris (Old Bridge, N.J.), junior forward Jesse Breeding (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.), sophomore guard Baron Goodridge (Bronx, N.Y.) and Young all contributing to make it 55-41 with 8:01 to go.
• Dominican responded with a 12-6 stretch to make it 67-47 with 3:33 remaining,
• The Clippers yet again rallied, using a Young layup to spark an 11-2 run with McFadden and sophomore forward Andre Francis (Hartford, Conn.) chipping in to make it 69-58, but the Chargers ended the rally with three free throws while a last-second basket from Young created the final score.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• The Clippers converted on 21-72 shots, going 6-28 from three-point territory and 10-13 from the free throw line.
• Dominican finished 27-63 from the field, 5-21 from distance and 13-17 from the free throw line.
• Concordia recorded 11 assists while Dominican had 14.

• Concordia had 10 turnovers, resulting in four points for Dominican. The Chargers had 17 turnovers, leading to 17 Clippers' points.

• Concordia recorded a 12 steals with one block while Dominican stole the ball six times with six blocks.
