Clippers Drop CACC North Division Game to Nyack

Bronxville, N.Y. – The Concordia men's basketball team hosted Nyack College on Wednesday afternoon for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division game at the Meyer Athletic Center. The Clippers were unable to earn their second straight win as the Warriors took a 93-70 victory.

Concordia began the game with a 9-3 lead and would extend it to 14-5 five minutes into the action. The Clippers would gain a double digit lead but Nyack would use an 11-0 run to take a 22-21 lead with 8:44 left in the half. Concordia would regain their lead but the Warriors ended the half on a 19-6 run to go into the locker room with a 43-34 advantage.

In the second half Nyack came out scoring the first seven points to open up a 16-point lead. The Clippers would trail by as many as 20 points but battled back to within 11 points with 9:38 remaining. The Warriors would not allow Concordia to get any closer as Nyack would go on to take a 93-70 win and secure their fifth victory of the season.

Senior Norman Pope (Washington, D.C.) led the Clippers with 21 points while sophomore Jamie Holder (Milford, N.H.) added 13 points. Freshman Jalen Heath (Joliet, Ill.) chipped in with a career-high 12 points off the bench as Concordia was out-shot from the field 48.3% to 36.8%.

The Clippers (1-12, 1-6 CACC) will next host Felician College for a CACC North Division matchup on Saturday afternoon. The game will begin at 3 p.m. following the women's game as fans unable to attend can follow all of the action via the live stats and video links on ConcordiaClippers.com.
