BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Concordia College New York baseball team plays its first game in-state this season on Wednesday, Mar. 11, when the Clippers travel to Mercy College for a 3 p.m. contest.

Concordia (3-10) returned north after concluding its nine-game spring break schedule with a 6-5 victory over American International College on Sunday, Mar. 8.

Junior outfielder Jake Partridge (Bardonia, N.Y.) matches Impeduglia with nine runs that ties for the sixth-most within the CACC with senior Frank Coste (Queens, N.Y.) and freshman outfielder Leo Alvarez (Oceanside, N.Y.) each hitting a triple while junior shortstop Blake Burgan (Holbrook, N.Y.) has Concordia's lone home run of the campaign.

On the mound, Concordia sports a team ERA of 6.00 with 72 strikeouts and 55 walks in 108.0 innings. Sophomore RHP Logan Vallas (East Northport, N.Y.) tosses a team-leading 16.1 innings over four appearances, with fellow sophomore righty Sean Malamud (Staten Island, N.Y.) recording two victories that ties for the most in the league. Senior right-handed pitchers Patrick Rivera (Elmont, N.Y.) and Enrico Locascio (Staten Island, N.Y.) each strike out 12 batters, while recently-named CACC Rookie of the Week freshman Noel Vasquez (Washington Heights, N.Y.) holds a 0.00 ERA over 9.1 innings with two saves that ties for the most in the conference.

About the Mavericks
Mercy (3-9) hosts Concordia in the fourth game of its eight-game homestand after splitting a doubleheader with the College of Staten Island on Sunday, Mar. 8.

The Mavericks are hitting .259 (28-130) as a team with a .381 slugging percentage off the strength of 17 doubles, four triples and seven home runs while tallying 60 runs scored, 46 RBI and 31 walks. Miguel Ortiz Sanchez paces the Mercy offense behind a .455 batting average, adding a team-leading 14 RBI and five stolen bases.
