BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Playing at the Clipper Baseball Field for the final time in their collegiate careers on Thursday evening, senior shortstop Tyler Epple (Levittown, N.Y.), senior center fielder Jaylin Martinez (Paramus, N.J.) and senior first baseman Andrew Medina (Brentwood, N.Y.) set a combined total of five career highs in the opening contest against Caldwell University, leading the Concordia College New York baseball team to a 22-12 victory before the visiting Cougars took the rain-shortened second outing in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader 9-5.

• Concordia moves to 12-33, 7-23 in CACC play.
• Caldwell improves to 14-25, 12-18 in league action.
• The 22 runs scored in the opening contest are the most by the baseball team since a 23-13 non-conference victory over Bloomfield COllege on Mar. 7, 2013.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS (GAME 1)
• Freshman left fielder Matt Rinaldi (Eastchester, N.Y.) went 2-4 with a career-high six RBI and one run scored.
• Epple went 3-6 with a career-high four RBI and one run scored.
• Martinez went 2-5 with a career-high four runs scored, a personal-record three RBI and one walk.
• Sophomore second baseman Jake Partridge (Bardonia, N.Y.) went 3-5 with three runs scored.
• Medina went 1-3 with three walks and three runs scored, both career highs.
• Junior third baseman Kendell Luquis (New Rochelle, N.Y.) went 2-4 with a personal-best four runs scored and two RBI.
• Junior right handed pitcher Michael Romano (Yonkers, N.Y.) got the start on the mound, receiving the victory after holding the Cougars to seven runs with four earned off eight hits in 5.0 innings.
• For Caldwell, Zach Zosulis went 3-6 with a home run and six RBI. Tom Disch was credited with the loss after allowing six runs off as many hits in the opening 1.2 frames.
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 1)
• Caldwell loaded the bases with two outs in the top of the first, using a Zosulis single to send Anthony Parente and Jalen March home and take a 2-0 lead.
• Concordia loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the second, sending sophomore catcher Hermes Abreu (Bayshore, N.Y.) home off a Luquis hit by pitch before three-straight hits from Rinaldi, Epple and junior designated player Joseph Impeduglia (Staten Island, N.Y.) scored Medina, Martinez, Luquis, Rinaldi and Epple to create a 6-2 advantage.
• Reaching base on a hit by pitch, March rounded the bases off a wild pitch before a home run from Zosulis platted himself and Brunson to make it 6-5.
• Concordia took advantage of a Cougar error in the bottom of the third to score Medina and Martinez, with Luquis scoring on a Rinaldi sacrifice fly to extend the separation to 9-5
• Caldwell capitalized on a Clippers error to get Alejando Mejia on base to begin the top of the fourth, with the Cougar and Parente rounding the bases off a Zosulis single to make it 9-7.
• Reaching bases on an error to leadoff the bottom of the fourth, senior right fielder Andre Jackson (Massapequa, N.Y.) sent Impeduglia home on a sacrifice fly to take a 10-7 lead.
• Travis Brunson hit a two-out home run in the top of the sixth to cut into the deficit at 10-8.
• Concordia loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the sixth, using a Martinez single, Caldwell balk and back-to-back base hits from Rinaldi and Epple to plate Partridge, Jackson, Medina, Martinez and Luquis to boast a 15-8 edge.
• Reaching base with a one-out single, Mike Airey scored on aDhillon Barbetti sacrifice fly before a bases-loaded walk for March platted Giovanni Mattis and wild pitch allowed Mejia to score to create a 15-11 score.
• Leading off the bottom of the seventh with a hit by pitch, Partridge and Abreu scored off a Martinez double while a Rinaldi sacrifice fly sent Jackson home and an Epple single platted Martinez and Luquis to extend the lead to 20-11.
• Leading off the top of the eighth with a walk, Luis Rullan scored off a Mattis single to make it 20-12.
• Leading off the bottom of the eighth with a double, Partridge rounded the bases off a Jackson sacrifice fly with a Luquis double scoring Abrea to create the final score.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE (GAME 1)
• Concordia recorded 17 hits, the Cougars had 12.
• The Clippers left 10 runners on base, Caldwell stranded 13.
• Concordia committed three errors, Caldwell committed four.

• Martinez went 2-3 with one run scored.
• Luquis went 1-3 with two runs scored.
• Senior right-handed pitcher Raymond Rosado (Brooklyn, N.Y.) got the start in game two, allowing eight runs with seven earned off nine hits in 4.0 innings.
• For Caldwell, Luis Rullan went 2-3 with two RBI and one run scored. Jerry Gamone was credited with the victory, holding Concordia without a run over the final 1.1 innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 2)
• Reaching base with a leadoff walk in the top of the first, Mejia scored off a Rullan single with Rullan stealing home to create an early 2-0 lead.
• Leading off the bottom of the third with a hit by pitch, Luquis rounded the bases off an Epple single before an Abreu single and Jackson double back-to-back platted Impeduglia and Epple to push Concordia ahead, 3-2.
• Caldwell began the top of the fourth with three-straight singles to score Brunson, with a double from Lehman sending Airey and Richards home before a Rullan base hit scored Lehman to boast a 6-3 edge.
• Concordia capitalized on a Cougar error in the bottom of the fourth to score Martinez and Luquis and cut into the separation at 6-5.
• Leading off the top of the fifth with a double, Walicky rounded the bases off a Brunson single with a Richards single sending Brunson home before a Lehmann groundout platted Richards to boast a 9-5 advantage.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE (GAME 2)
• Concordia recorded eight hits, the Cougars tallied 10.
• The Clippers left eight runners on base, Caldwell stranded four.
• The Clippers committed one errors, Caldwell had three.
• Caldwell stole four bases.
