WATERBURY, Conn. – The pitching duo of senior RHP Jack Wall (Levittown, N.Y.) and junior RHP Connor Stapleton (Staten Island, N.Y.) held host Post University's high-scoring offense that entered Friday's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader averaging 10.0 runs per conference game at bay in the second outing, with sophomore Jake Partridge (Bardonia, N.Y.) hitting his first collegiate home run in the 5-3 victory after the Concordia College New York baseball team fell in the opener 8-3.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS (GAME 1)
• Senior shortstop Tyler Epple (Levittown, N.Y.) went 2-3 with one RBI
• Junior second baseman Kendell Luquis (New Rochelle, N.Y.) went 0-2 with a RBI, run scored and walk.
• Senior RHP Raymond Rosado (Brooklyn, N.Y.) got the start, allowing five runs off seven hits with three strikeouts in 6.1 innings.
• For Post, Tyler Melko went 4-5 with three RBI and two runs scored while Rosario Missiti went 1-3 with two RBI off a home run and two walks. Dan Ranglievic got the start, holding the Clippers to three runs with two earned off four hits in 6.1 innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 1)
• With one out in the bottom of the fourth, Post used a one-out double from Melko and home run from Missiti to take a 2-0 lead.
• Leading off the top of the top of the fifth with a single, senior right fielder Andre Jackson (Massapequa, N.Y.) stole second base before scoring off a RBI groundout from Luquis while an Epple single with two outs platted junior Nick Vlahakis (Oceanside, N.Y.) to even the score at 2-all.
• Reaching base on a one-out walk, Luquis rounded the bases off a two-out single from freshman designated hitter Matt Rinaldi (Eastchester, N.Y.) to give the Clippers a 3-2 edge.
• After knotting the score off a one-out single from Miguel De Los Santos in the bottom of the seventh, the Eagles scored a run on a bases-loaded walk followed by a three-RBI double from Melko before reloading the bases and platting one more run off a Nicholas Gastin sacrifice fly to create an 8-3 advantage.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE (GAME 1)
• Concordia recorded five hits while the Eagles had nine.
• The Clippers left six runners on base, Post stranded eight.
• Post committed one error.
• Concordia stole one base.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS (GAME 2)
• Partridge went 1-3 with a home run.
• Junior designated hitter Joseph Impeduglia (Staten Island, N.Y.) went 1-4 with a triple, RBI and run scored.
• Wall got the start, holding the high-scoring Eagles to three runs off five hits in 5.2 innings with five strikeouts to earn the victory.
• Stapleton held Post off the scoreboard over the final 1.1 innings for the save.
• For Post, Travious Ford went 2-3 with two runs scored and one triple. Shawn Baker got the start on the mound for the Eagles, allowing five runs off four hits in 4.2 innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 2)
• Leading off the bottom of the first with a base hit, Ford scored the opening run of game two on a two-out single from Missiti to give the host an early 1-0 lead.
• With two outs in the top of the second, Partridge hit a solo home run to even the score with junior right fielder Jaylin Martinez (Paramus, N.J.) following with a walk and rounding the bases off a Luquis single to make it 2-1.
• Keeping the top of the fifth alive with a two-out base on balls, Epple rounded the bases off an Impeduglia triple before a wild pitch and balk from Post's pitcher platted Impeduglia and Jackson to create a 5-1 advantage.
• Post used a Ford triple and Mike Lisinicch single back-to-back with one out in the bottom of the sixth to score a run, with pinch-running Jones touching home plate on a passed ball to make it 5-3.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE (GAME 2)
• Both sides recorded five hits.
• The Clippers left seven runners on base, Post stranded two.
• Concordia committed one error.
• Concordia stole three bases.
