Rinaldi Named CACC Baseball Rookie Of The Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon, with Concordia College New York freshman outfielder Matt Rinaldi (Eastchester, N.Y.) being named the Baseball Rookie of the Week.

Rinaldi made an appearance in seven of the Clippers' eight games last week, holding a .375 batting average with a double and triple for a .500 slugging percentage on top off 11 RBI, 10 runs scored, four stolen bases and four walks. He tallied multiple hits three times with a career-best four against Southern Conn. State University on Friday, Mar. 8, adding a personal-record four runs scored in the victory. The freshman boasted a career-high four RBI against Queens College (N.Y.) on Monday, Mar. 4, tallying multiple RBI in three more contests during Concordia's spring break trip in South Fla.

Rinaldi currently ties for third within the CACC with five stolen bases and one triple and fifth with 12 runs scored and 11 RBI on top of a .393 batting average and .500 slugging percentage.

The baseball team travels to Mercy College on Tuesday, Mar. 12 for a 3 p.m. contest.
