WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Concordia College baseball team was upended by Bentley, 8-0, and Nyack, 13-5, on Tuesday evening in a pair of games at the Alfond Stadium on the campus of Rollins College.

Against the Falcons, Bentley would score runs in the first, fourth, sixth, seventh, and eighth innings as the Clippers were shutout for the first time this season. Concordia would record only six hits in the game. The bullpen finished the final 1.2 innings and allowed one earned run on four hits and struck out one batter.

In the showdown against their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival, the Warriors began the game with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning to lead 2-0. The Clippers answered back with a lone run in the bottom of the first as a sacrifice fly by senior Joseph Davide (West Hempstead, N.Y.) allowed freshman Jake Partridge (Bardonia, N.Y.) to score from third base. Nyack would add a run in the second, two in the fifth, and two in the sixth to lead 7-1.

Concordia scored two runs in the home half of the sixth to cut the deficit to 7-3 after freshman Hermes Abreu (Bayshore, N.Y.) and junior Tyler Epple (Levittown, N.Y.) recorded RBI's. The Warriors added five more runs in the eighth and a lone run in the ninth to lead 13-3. With two outs in the ninth the Clippers would score two RBI's off the bat of sophomore Peter Lawless (Rockville Centre, N.Y.), but Nyack would hold on for the 13-5 win. Junior Raymond Rosado (Brooklyn, N.Y.) pitched 5.0 innings in the loss as he allowed three earned runs on five hits while striking out five batters.
