Five Student-Athletes Named to the Spring CACC All-Academic Team for Concordia

New Haven, Conn. - The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) has announced its All-Academic Team for the 2014 spring athletic season today. A total of 154 student-athletes from the 14 conference schools have earned a place on the list. Concordia is represented with five student-athletes named to the team: three on the softball team, one on the men’s golf team, and one on the men’s tennis team.

In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic Team, recipients must have participated in a CACC-Championship sport in the winter. They must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters and achieve a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher through the winter semester.

Sophomore’s Alexa Lavalle (Oxford, N.J.), Hannah Rubasky (Nanticoke, Pa.), and Kelsey Ruggirello (Walden, N.Y.) represented the softball team this season. All three are named to the CACC All-Academic Team for the first time in their careers as Lavalle is a Social Sciences major, Rubasky is a Biology major, and Ruggirello is an Education major. 

For the men’s golf team the lone recipient was senior Sam Deitte (St. Louis, Mo.). The Business Administration major was named to the CACC All-Academic Team for the third time in his career.

Rounding out the All-Academic Team for Concordia is junior Benas Majauskas (Vilnius, Lithuania) of the men's tennis team. Majauskas is a Business Administration major and is named to the team for the second time in his career.
