Concordia Tennis Programs Earn ITA All-Academic Recognition

Skillman, N.J. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its annual All-Academic Team awards and All-Scholar-Athlete awards as both tennis programs at Concordia received recognition.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above. The men’s team is one of two programs from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) to earn the award.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year and have been enrolled at Concordia for at least two semesters.

For the men their ITA All-Academic Team award is the third straight as their ITA Scholar-Athletes included sophomore Rafael Ferreira (Sao Paulo, Brazil), senior Ricardo Frey (Curitiba, Brazil), sophomore Ofir Ginat (Raa’nana, Israel), and junior Benas Majauskas (Vilnius, Lithuania). Frey was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete for the second time in his collegiate career while Majauskas earned his third overall selection.

On the women’s side sophomore Nicole Stuhr (Glendora, Calif.) was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete for the second consecutive season. She is one of 13 individuals from the CACC who was recognized in women’s tennis.
